“Fujairah Plastic Industries” Showcases Latest Innovations at “Gulfood Manufacturing” Exhibition
Al Kaabi: Peace in Gaza is Key to Stabilizing Global Supply Chains, Reducing Shipping Costs, and Boosting Trade

At a time when global markets are affected by geopolitical tensions and supply chain fluctuations, Fujairah Plastic Industries Group emerges as a model of a Gulf company that combines industrial leadership and a sustainable vision. The company has maintained its business volume in recent years and expanded by establishing its first factory outside the UAE in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, in September last year.
The Fujairah Group of Companies owns 4 factories, 3 of them within the UAE and the fourth in Saudi Arabia, producing approximately 36,000 tons annually, with its products reaching more than 55 countries worldwide.
Innovation Linking Artificial Intelligence and Sustainability
Eng. Khalid Al-Kaabi, CEO of Fujairah Plastic Industries Group, stated that the company is preparing to showcase a range of technical innovations at the current edition of the “Gulfood Manufacturing” exhibition, which will be held from November 4 to 6. He emphasized that their new vision focuses on integrating artificial intelligence into packaging solutions.
The innovations include smart labels equipped with (NFC and QR Codes) technologies, allowing consumers to track the product’s journey and verify its origin, within the concept of “Secure Packaging.” The company also offers products based on bio-materials and recycled resins (rPET and rPP), affirming its commitment to reducing the carbon footprint.
Al Kaabi stressed that the “Gulfood Manufacturing” exhibition is the leading global event for food and beverage manufacturers, supply chain pioneers, and technology pioneers to explore advanced innovations that improve efficiency, enhance productivity, and ensure long-term profitability. The exhibition connects AI-driven food tech intelligence, sustainability-focused design engineering, precision performance systems, next-generation ingredient sciences, and financial resilience as the foundation of industrial progress.
Green Strategy: 100% Recyclable Products
Al Kaabi says that sustainability has become a core focus of the company’s vision. “Therefore, we are investing heavily in research and development, updating production lines, alongside building strong partnerships with suppliers and customers to ensure a sustainable lifecycle for each product.”
He added that this step is part of a broader shift towards a circular economy that balances industrial growth and environmental responsibility. Over the past four decades, the company has expanded its activities from paper and plastic to flexible packaging for Symphony’s d2w products. The company also works on providing 100% biodegradable plastic RS products, which helps our customers achieve their ambitions, face environmental challenges, and contribute to a safer world.
Political Stability is the Key to the Global Economy
Al Kaabi emphasized that stabilizing the situation in the Middle East, foremost among them achieving peace in Gaza, is a fundamental pillar for restoring balance in international trade.
He said: “Conflicts always create disruptions in supply chains and increase transportation and insurance costs, which reflects on production costs of goods and thus on the purchasing power of the global consumer. Stabilizing the Middle East enhances confidence in the region’s markets, stimulates local and international investments, and alleviates pressures on operational and production costs.”
He affirmed that stability would restore vitality to trade movement, especially in sensitive industrial sectors like plastics and packaging, which are directly affected by fluctuations in energy and shipping.
Strategic Expansion in Saudi Arabia

As part of its regional expansion, “Fujairah Plastic Industries” inaugurated an advanced factory in Saudi Arabia in September 2024. Al Kaabi proudly stated that the factory exceeded expectations in its first year and contributed to increasing the company’s share of the Saudi market. The factory specializes in producing a wide range of daily consumer plastic bags for Saudi citizens, including plastic bags, garbage bags, and fruit and vegetable packaging bags.
Al Kaabi stressed that the Saudi market is one of the largest and most important markets for the company’s products. The new factory aligns with the company’s broader strategy to expand across the Gulf and Middle East region. In its initial phase, the factory will focus on meeting the needs of the local Saudi market, with future expansion plans aimed at exporting to neighboring markets.
Leadership Spanning Four Decades

Since its establishment in 1982 in the Emirate of Fujairah, the company has achieved a global presence in more than 55 countries, thanks to its continuous investment in modern European technologies and its adoption of an innovation-driven approach.
Al Kaabi added that the company was one of the first in the Arabian Gulf to keenly develop its products to align with environmental advancement by producing environmentally friendly and biodegradable plastic bags, new Kraft paper bags – considered a breakthrough in eco-friendly packaging solutions – along with flexible packaging that helped the company expand into many global markets. The company continues to serve the food and food manufacturing sector.
Al Kaabi estimated the company’s production capacity at approximately 36,000 tons of various plastic products, alongside 15,000 tons of flexible packaging. Exports account for about 85% of the company’s total production, with its products reaching more than 55 countries worldwide.
International Exhibitions… A Gateway to Innovation and Partnerships

Al Kaabi believes that consistent participation in global exhibitions like “Gulfood Manufacturing,” “Fi Africa,” and others represents a major lever for commercial and technical expansion.
He said: “These exhibitions allow us to communicate directly with global customers and partners, explore the latest developments in the industry, and showcase our capabilities in the fields of smart and sustainable packaging.”
He adds that exports constitute about 85% of the company’s sales, reinforcing its position as a major exporter of packaging solutions in regional and global markets.
A Vision towards the Future
Al Kaabi concludes his remarks by emphasizing that the next phase will witness a greater focus on green innovation and smart manufacturing technologies, stating: “We believe that the future of the industry lies not in quantity, but in quality, technology, and sustainability. Our goal is to remain a trusted partner in the global packaging industry and a source of pride for the Emirati industry.”
